Chapter 1: The Beginning | Day 1

Bonnie has left for a 6 day work meeting. I'm home alone with the children. I plan on chronicling our adventures here, so that if the time comes to call in a recovery operation, there will be a trail of clues as to what had transpired. Many years from now, thanks to major advances in forensic sciences funded in part by "CSI: Turks and Caicos," scholars will begin to piece together the tale.

Day 1: The matriarch has embarked on her journey. We waved goodbye in the weak sun of a March sunrise. I look down at my conscripts. The older one is a female who stands about belly button high. She is very inquisitive and appears to have taken an interest in many of the "out of bounds" areas of the ship. The younger one, a male, who rises to about mid-thigh, speaks a foreign tongue. While the female claims to not understand him, I get an uncomfortable feeling that they are somehow communicating, whenever I'm not looking.

Our rations appear adequate: Milk :: 2 gallons; Honey Nut Cheerios :: 2 lbs; Fresh Fruit :: 2 pecks; Macaroni and Cheese Product :: 3 packages.

I plan on inviting my guests to the captain's quarters to dine this evening. I would like to introduce my companions to our civil ways and set the tone for our adventure together.

I notice the winds are beginning to rise in the west and a storm appears to be gathering in the distance. Will keep an eye on the weather and adjust course as necessary.

Signing off for now,
Captain Tim
